How To Achieve A Glowing, Dewy Makeup Look This Summer
Summer is here, and so is the time for makeup looks that are highlight-heavy, dewy, and radiant!
That being said, here are some of the best products you can use to create the fresh face you've been seeing all over your feed.
1. Argan Oil
If I was forced to throw away all my skincare products except one- I would gladly keep my argan oil and never look back. It's a must-have moisturizer for all skin types; apply it at night and wake up to skin that looks healthy and radiant. Not only is it affordable, but it's also all natural and doesn't clog pores!
2. Illuminating Primers
Once you have a fresh face, start with laying down a base that will illuminate the makeup you put on top of it. If you want to save, you can pick the L'Oreal Paris Magic Lumi Primer for $12 at the drugstore. If you want to splurge, try out Estee Lauder's Illuminating Perfecting Primer.
3. Foundation With Dewy Finishing
If you're similar to me and don't like to spend too much on foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth foundation is a great hydrating, oil-free foundation that costs only $8. However, if you want to go all out for your summer look, the Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation is constantly raved about and even won an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2016.
4. Liquid Highlights
If your dewy foundation still doesn't give you the glow you're in need off, a great tip is to mix a liquid highlight in with it before you apply. If you prefer matte foundation, you could also use this to illuminate it. NYX's Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator comes in 4 shade ranges to accompany different skin tones and is affordable at less than $8. If you want to invest in your summer glow, the most popular liquid highlight on the market is Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops for $42.
5. Creamy Concealers
Nothing compliments the face more than light, creamy concealer that brightens up the eye area and makes you look alive and thriving. The Stretch Concealer from Glossier has been my everyday go-to, ride or die product that always makes me look like I actually got 8 hours of sleep, even when I get half of that. If you don't feel like ordering one online, a drugstore alternative is the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.
6. More Highlights!
Once you have your face makeup set, finish your look with your favorite powder highlight on your inner corners, under the brows, center and top of nose, and on the tops of your cheekbones. This is the most fun part- add a little for a subtle glow or layer it for a blinding highlight. The BECCA Pressed Highlighter in the shade Champagne Pop is all anyone talks about, rightfully so, but you can also get a show-stopping highlight using any of Colourpop's Super Shock Highlighter's for only 6 bucks.
